Song for a Winter Sunday Morning

Against All Odds - Phil Collins (Yes, I know, but deep down inside, I'm just a hopelessly romantic fool)

  5. I started singing as soon as I read the song title in my Google reader snippet. I'm a huge Phil fan, I even forgive him for Sussudio.

Yes, T, I also forgive him for 'Sussudio'; only that I did dance to it many a time in my youth :-)!

  8. that's so me too, my friend. I haven't really listened to that song in about a decade but I can still remember every bit of it. One of his best.

You know what other song that is like that, that I haven't heard in yonks and still recall every now and then? It's Wham's "Careless Whisper". That is an incredible song when you consider George Michael was only 19 when he wrote it. I think his taletns went downhill as he hit 30's and beyond. Yes,I can hear the Flamenco strings even now as I end this comment!

So, still cold there? Gorgeous here. Mid 50's F and sun shining.

  9. Thanks, Mmmm, you don't have to rub it in, the warm weather, I mean :-)!

'Careless Whisper' is one of my guilty pleasure, although with me there's only pleasures, not guilt at all.

    Greetings from London.

  10. Ok de quien estabas enamorado y perdistes? Esa es una de mis canciones favoritas. Me hacia pensar en mi esposo cuando eramos novios y rompimos, y estubimos separados por 6 largos Años.

  14. This song and the previous post remind me of this other song by Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush.
(Not that I prefer Gabriel better than Collins or Genesis...)

    Happy new year to everybody!

  17. I love your choice - the lyrics are so great! I also love his version of the old Motown classic "You Can't Hurry Love".

I agree with triple M and you about "Careless Whisper". Genius at 19; I adore the video too.

    Boone Année!
Love this too - he's done some great stuff in his time; I heard he's "retiring" from music - what a shame..!
