Notice
This blog will be closed until further notice.
In the meantime, if someone finds hope, decency, respect, empathy (and its close relative, sympathy), acceptance and humanity, tell them they are much missed.
The date of your resignation, is it co-incidence? Or a deliberate reaction? I thought of cancelling all my US followers and never again read their blogs but too many of them hurt now and I would hurt them in turn for chucking them all into the same bin. Brexit was painful enough. Still is. I don’t have a British passport and expect I might have some over eager immigrant hunter knocking on my door as soon as the country has left the EU.
Hi ACIL - I do hope you just take a commercial break away from the horrors of wondering what next ... we all will be here continuing to live as normally as we can ... and getting through ... trying to ignore all that doesn't actually matter to us for now. Take care and just return when you can ... cheers Hilary
This post makes me miss your blog all the more. I do hope this is a temporary break because you're part of the reason I returned to blogging today. We need a break from post-election despair and also strong voices of reason. Keep in mind that the Hillary won the popular vote. Those of us who voted for her will continue to fight for justice, empathy and humanity.
Your thoughts will be missed! There IS a lot of empathy and kindness - but sometimes the bad overwhelms it all... After the US election, voices like yours are even more urgently needed. Take care!
Today is Remembrance Day here in Canada, and I have made a special blog post to honour this day. Perhaps you may no longer wish to blog at this time, but please know that you are welcome on my blog anytime, where, as you know, I keep things positive, happy and upbeat. Sending you warm hugs and much love.
There is so much I can say to this (and so much that could be easily misconstrued), so I will say simply say this: Do what you think is right. You will be missed, but some of us will be moving on to deal with it the best we can.
Take heart. Those qualities aren't missing. They still survive strong and unbending in the hearts of many people. All you need to is look into the mirror.
I hope you come back soon. Your voice of reason and caring is very much needed. Take care.
Yes, you certainly deserve the much needed rest. I have done this a few times too. Because of exhaustion, because of the need to find new subjects to write at regular intervals.
I am sure you will rest and come back with a bang.
Sending lots of hugs your way. Sounds like you could use some. The world IS filled with hope, good people and miracles. But is easy to forget those things, with all the bad things we read and see, especially on the news. I just posted about Christmas miracles today, to remind myself of that and hopefully my readers too.
They sure are hard to find these days
ReplyDeleteMost of us know how you feel, but I hope you don't disappear - we need voices of sanity like yours
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jo and echo her sentiments. And many of us here in Canada are not celebrating, either. :(
ReplyDeleteI am surprised and disappointed at this news, CiL, but, metaphorically speaking, I am confident the phoenix will rise again ....
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jo. Please don't go. Although I understand how you feel. I felt it with Brexit, but Trump is more egregious.
ReplyDeleteJust when I returned to full time blogging.

Best wishes for whatever your plans are.
A dark time for everyone. I will miss you very much, you brought something so lovely, so appreciated and so it will be when you return.
ReplyDeletePeace

Sorry to lose you, and I hope after you take time to recharge your batteries you'll be back.
ReplyDeleteYou will be missed. Big time.
ReplyDeleteI will miss your steady, enlightened presence, Cuban. Please think about gracing us and coming back at some point. Sending love.
ReplyDeletePlease don't leave, I so enjoy your presence here. I hope you will take care and return. Hugs!

ReplyDeleteThis is the worst news. I hope one day you will reconsider because, sadly, your excellent posts will be missed. Hope all goes well for you.
ReplyDeletePues por aquí me encontrarás, saludos.

ReplyDeleteYou are going to be so missed! :(
ReplyDeletePlease don't make it too long...your voice has been such an inspiration to so many.
In the meantime...wishing you all the very best! :)

I'm so sorry to hear this, my brother. Take care of yourself and come back to us soon.
ReplyDeleteI've been away for the past month and will miss you, my friend
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading more posts from you soon. Take care!
